Well the first Batman game was about 10-12 hours and was the best Super Hero video game ever made.

I'm about an hour into this one and it seems like a better game all around. I'm expecting the same amount of time for the main story, but you also have missions that you can play as Catwoman, Robin, Nightwing. I bought my copy from Best Buy and it came with free codes for Catwoman and Robin.

Arkham City is getting some crazy good reviews. I enjoyed the first one. Not sure when I'll buy this one.

I'm damn excited about Skyrim. That and Ass Creed revelations are the only games I'm planning on buying until after Christmas. I might end up picking up Arkham City if my friends still love it after beating it.

Arkham City is strictly better than the first game. So if you liked the first one, it would be pretty impossible not to like this one better.

Just finished the main story of Arkham City. I'm pretty shocked that they were allowed to end the game the way they did.

It was incredible.

Looks like a good one to me. I never really played through any GTA games since uhhh the last one that was in 2D. I do like that this one is a Los Angeles-style game that isnt the stereotypical Compton/Inglewood shit. I mean, it's cool that they HAD a game that was all gangsta like that, but I had a friend whose wife wouldnt come visit LA because she saw someone play San Andreas and thought that's what it was gonna be like. GTA5 actually looks more like the LA that I recognize and see every day, so that's appreciated. Doubt I'll play it though. I'll do like I do with every other GTA game and find someone else to play it, and I'll watch.

I'm saving my money for a new laptop so in can't actually play many games this year. I'll probably pick them all up cheap next year.

I did buy a new wired 360 controller for $16 to use on my pc. I've been playing super Nintendo with it. Works great. The fansub of Dragon Quest VI I downloaded is pretty good.

Agreed. It's just kinda sad that some people are that sheltered off. That's part of what led me out of Central Virginia. It was like this bubble and most of the people couldn't see out of it. There was a certain sanctity to it, which is great for someone who needs a break from the world, but I couldn't live like that forever.

Just picked up Uncharted 3 and the Ico/Shadow of the Colossus HD collection.

I'm not sure Uncharted 3 even counts as a video game at this point. They've moved on to total interactive movie status. Not that there's anything wrong with it, I'm a few hours in and the game is fantastic. Although I definitely agree with the internet's rage over the game's shooting mechanic. It's not good.

I also started Shadow of the Colossus HD. The game is beautiful, but despite the upscale, the textures still look last gen. Either way, it's one of my favorite games ever and this is definitely a better version.

I'd say it's about the same length as the other games. Maybe about 10 hours? Pretty easy to get through that in 3 days or so.

And like the other games I don't think there's any reason to replay it. I guess there's multiplayer, but I'm probably just going to trade it in and pick up Rage.

I think everyone should play it though, the set pieces are fantastic. The villains aren't as good as the second game, but considering you're just playing all the scenes of the Last Crusade I'm OK with that.

The multiplayer is actually fun, but I still don't like online multiplayer.

I replayed the first Uncharted to get treasure, but part of that was because they patched in trophies. I replayed parts of Uncharted 2 for trophies also, but in that game they also went toward multiplayer, so I had a better reason.

One of the guys at my work swears Rage is one of the best games he's played this year. That seems nuts, but I dunno it is id software, so who knows. I need something to hold me over until Assassin's Creed comes out.

I played Multiplayer for Uncharted 2 and it was fun, but the shooting mechanic in 3 doesn't seem as responsive. I also hate online multiplayer in general unless it's Magic The Gathering or Street Fighter.

so you won't be playing ass creed multiplayer? I played it quite a bit on brotherhood. I really enjoyed it. Possibly the best online multiplayer game I've played besides maybe MMOs. The gameplay is extremely fun and not just bullshit point and shoot strategy.

Well I know that they had actually intended the multiplayer to be a bit different. Originally they had set it up so you could kill the guy chasing you but everyone who tried it before the change made it a kill-fest in the center of the map. Even with the late change I, personally, thought it was pretty fluid. Maybe that's where that feeling came from, though.

I'm not fully invested in skyrim, and I think it's because leveling doesnt feel as rewarding as in fallout. The perk trees are confusingly huge and spread out and the 10 points of health magick or stamina isn't much.

I'm liking the perk system. It seems like the reason the perks are spread out like that is because leveling goes so high. A giant is supposed to be like Level 35 or something.

I've been fairly obsessive with Skyrim since I bought it. Like any free time is spent playing. I've been forcing myself to make plans with people and find errands to do just to keep myself away from the game.

I'm barely into the Thief Guild's actual quest but I've gotten city influence in 3 holds and I'm getting to be pretty damn rich.

Oh and I get that lag reminiscent of the Fallouts and Oblivion, too. It is usually a good couple hours of play though. I've been home since about 2:30 PST and playing and haven't had that issue yet today.
(edit: as I typed this I turned back to the game and noticed I've been on a load screen for 5 or so minutes ><... I still have the mist animation but there's no object on the screen or tip)

I started to get it as soon as I discovered Solitude. Now all the major cities lag on me. I didn't know restarting helped. I'll try that next time.

Supposedly the PS3 framerate issues is one of the things the team is focusing on in their upcoming patch. At least it's not as bad as the texture problem on the 360 when you have the game fully installed.

I'm level 13 now and I've done quite a few Thieves Guild quests already before I stopped to focus on Alchemy for awhile. I'm reluctant to fast travel to places because I want to pick every berry and butterfly wing in between every town. Now I have a billion ingredients and a ton of potions that I won't use and I'm too proud of my handiwork to sell them. Well... I sold SOME of them.

I'm level 30. I play as a conjurer mage.

It's pretty easy to power level yourself quickly using the Illusion Spell Muffle or the Alteration Spell Detect Life while in a big city.

I actually love the perk trees, because they provide substancial benefits and offer a lot of diversity in the type of character you can play as.

I'm taking most of the perks in the Conjuration tree. The first perks in 1 handed sword to increase damage. (I use bound sword spell for melee). I'm going into Alteration's perks for the passive magic resistance and the boost to mage armor spells (I only wear cloth armor). I went into Destruction to get Impact and dual casting.

I'm also throwing points into Enchanting, because according to the internet enchanting and smithing are over powered, so why not?

But I do love diversity of things you could do. I'd love to play the game again and play a totally different type of character and take perks in other trees.

I like the perk trees a lot, too. I don't think they're confusing at all. The only thing I don't like about the perk trees is that I keep accidentally navigating to a different constellation when I'm trying to just move between the stars in a single constellation. But other than that, I like the way they are structured, and I agree, they provide for a lot of diversity and customization.

I also like how leveling up is only 10 points in either Magicka, Stamina or Health. I believe that also adds to the diversity of characters because you gotta put dedicated work into something to make it strong, rather than having all three factors be great after only a few levels. I think progression should be slow and gradual in a game of this magnitude, otherwise we're just going to be walking around Skyrim powerful as fuck and still have a million quests left to do.

Yeah, according to the internet, they're huge money-makers, and you can get yourself a set of Daedric armor pretty quickly by smithing and enchanting iron daggers and selling them. I don't really want to play that way though. I'd rather grind it out and play the game as it was intended, without power-leveling or power-earning. I am, however, gunning for that Nightingale armor. That shit looks awesome.

I love the stories that people have from playing this game. I read about how one guy killed a ton of guards, dragged all their corpses into one place and revived them as undead minions, and then went on to invade cities, conquer them completely, and grow his undead army from the corpses of the all the cities' guards. I love how shit like that is possible and actually feels authentic.

This is missing a picture or two that was there when originally posted but this is possibly my favorite elder scrolls story(oblivion tho)
http://www.facepunch.com/threads/631191

I finally beat the thief guild quests. Odd there's no followers obtainable from it. The nightingale armor is cool enough but I only really use the boots and gloves. I don't know what kind of armor it's supposed to be but I need goddamn void salts to improve it. I've found 1 in 32 levels and I can't even improve to Legendary yet Sad

I wasted a few perks I put on block stuff and switched to dual wield one handers. Loving that a lot more so far.

Finally got my conjuration up to 100 and now I can summon two Dremora Lords at once. Those dudes kill Giants in like 2-3 hits. I don't even have to fight anymore, I just hang out behind them and they wreck dudes.

I'm playing rogue at the moment. Developing sneak, one handed, light armor and probably other stuff. I don't know how you guys play so much, it's only been out 10 days. Between 35 hour work weeks and my girlfriend, I'm only level 10 do far.

I also picked up Bulletstorm and Dead Space 2 from gamefly for $10 each. Bulletstorm is good for breaking up skyrim sessions because it's totally different.

I don't get many opportunities to play either. I'm still level 13. I spent one full day (about 8 hours last Thursday) playing it, and maybe 6 hours spread out over the course of the 3 days following its release, and that's how far I got. I haven't played at all since last Thursday but I still think about the game every day and can't wait until Wednesday when I get to play it again for about 4 hours.
