Come to England, get drunk with me, and end up in a random town.

No, but there's a lot of people at school who have or done study abroad.
Have you looked into that? Apparently there are a lot of opportunities available to do that. I've been very interested to for years but there's always something or another grounding me in place.

It might be different where ever you're studying, but here I'm told that financial aid tends to cover most of the cost and the school has fund-raising programs to pay off the rest. Apparently it might end up being free and having some spending monies to boot.
Of course you'd be restricted by classes you're taking, but it'd be a good opportunity (especially if it's cheap) to see new places.

What's cute?

I don't know how I managed it, to be honest. I just sort of ended up talking to these people. Next thing I know I'm railing k on a dvd box at their house.

What do you mean by homebase. Just where you started? Or would you keep returning to Rome and traveling from there?

Thats too long, homes. While im sure thats almost short enough to see everything you can see, I only plan to go for 4-5 weeks.. Can you give me an estimated price on how much I should bring for that time? When did you go? Wasnt it before 2005?

I would spend a 2 weeks out travelling around.. and then head back to Rome spend a night there and decide where I wanted to go next..
What I liked to do because I had the eurorail pass, I would spend all day in one city.. and if I had seen everything I wanted or wanted to goto another city I would get on the very last train of the night.. so I would sleep on the train while it was headed wherever and then in the morning i'd be in new city.. most train stations have bathrooms with showers and lockers.. was convienant.. and I couldnt stand Hostels so it was train or hotel room for me.

Then yeah after awhile I'd head back to Rome.. goto the same hotel, eat dinner at the same place, and relax for a day instead of sightseeing and then head out again.. was nice to have some routine while so far away..

I didnt go on a budget.. I took a cruise from Galveston,TX to Civitavecchia, Italy
but day to day spending.. was like $30-40 with food and admission..
I cant say this enough.. get a eurorail.. plan to use it for all travelling distance.. dont plan on going to Spain unless you want to waste 2 days on a train or rent a car.. Stick to Italy/France and some northern europe..

yeah I went during summer of 2005

My favorite places were Northern Italy, ALL of Portugal.. , and Madrid was amazing.. but I was also a Museum hound..
I didnt care for Paris at all.. but I was homesick for the couple days I was there.. so I really think that had alot to do with it.. but Southern France is beautiful.
