This new kid at work is a baptist and believes in creationism

Just hired a new kid at my part time, he went to some bible college and is a youth minister or whatever you call it. He doesnt watch movies, sports, television, read books, listen to anything other than christian bands, and says he doesnt "understand mutation and evolution" when I asked him if he believed creationism.

Kid thought he was going to get shot by driving through brockton (brandy and chris know about my hometown- which is a large city with good and bad parts, wealth and poverty, whites and blacks, etc etc. )

I sort of feel bad for this brainwashed kid. Thinking about openly talking about abortions, drug use, pornography, transvestitism, and other various topics that will have him shit his pants...

I have a good friend from my days in the navy that was Mormon. He was pretty gullible and awkward at first because we are all sick bastards on the sub. Once he loosened up and got married he was an extremely cool dude. Never really pushed his views on anyone or judged, he turned out to be a sex fiend and I almost got him to gtl drunk with us. One of the handful of dudes I keep in contact with from those days.

I work at a company called computershare, its a mutual fund company and we try to get people to vote on their proxy cards. I do quality control which is basically sitting around with some other people and making sure our callers say the right things..

Im not going to fuck with the kid bad, I was just thinking about really pushing him to explains how illogical creationism is. And I want to ask him if he belongs to a massachusetts chapter of the wbc lol

Do you know if he went to moody or trinity? I only know of a few Bible Colleges out that way.

The best thing to do is not to try to force it all in his face, but to slowly drip knowledge into his mind. Explain natural selection without calling it that. Explain science without using the words that scare him.

If he's receptive, the seeds will blossom and broaden his thought landscape, perhaps eventually causing him to question more.

But these people are expecting a trial by fire, and that shit just makes them cling even more tightly.

Maybe you could try respecting his opinion and acting like a professional while at work? I realize that might sound like I'm being rude, but I'm just saying that trolling this kid at work is kind of a dick move. Is he loud about it? Or do you know all of this about him because you asked him first?

No youre not being rude... What ive said here is unprofessional. However, I havent attacked him outright. He shared his thoughts with us and I made a small comment. And now im sharing it with all of you. Theres nothing wrong with amusing the idea that I would say something.
