I can't. I'm a teacher now. They made us sign something about only using the internet for school purposes. I'm guessing the school has a problem with teachers surfing the net. Does anyone even say "surfing the net" anymore? Is anyone even listening to me?

It's just my second year. I'm going to give it 5 years and see if I want to stick with it. It's stressful but not any more than any other teacher I guess.

I have a caseload of 68 kids. 30 are freshman, the rest are seniors. I teach a resource room for freshman. I have 10 kids in that class. I also co-teach English and math. Those classes each have ~25 kids. I write IEPs, run meetings, and provide itinerant services to kids in the general education classroom.

I get to teach my first period pretty much whatever I want. Yesterday and today we read Harrison Bergeron and today we watched 2081.

To re-answer your sped/gen question, I wouldn't say it's more stressful, or that I work harder, but I do think I am pulled in many more directions than gen ed teachers. I hesitated to answer that question before because it's the kind of thing you hear teachers talk about. Gen teachers think sped teachers do nothing, and vice versa. I think there are hardworking and lazy teachers in all departments and I hate listening to teachers bitch about their job.

I think of teachers as working way too damn hard. Mati confirmed that for me, and I figured that the IEPs just complicated that load a lot more. I'm sure there are lazy teachers out there but overall the job itself seems damn stressful.

Yeah it's fucking miserable. I had the option of doing this as a contract too, but I asked to be a full time employee instead. So I'm salaried. That was a bad idea!

What is the deadline/how long will it take you to finish? Is that the usual time it takes for an app? Can you make my tamagotchi stop dying?

The deadline was 1/31. We're way past that. They need to submit to the app store soon or they will risk missing the start of the race season.

And if I made your tamagotchi stop dying, i'd have to make all tamagotchi's stop dying. and that's a slippery slope.

When does race season begin? Not sure why I didn't think that happened in seasons like other sports.

Did that just really happen? Holy shit. I was just offered a full-time benefited position. Holy crap. I interviewed yesterday and was told there would be a second interview and they wouldn't hire anyone for another two weeks. My boss is out of the office until late this week so anything can happen between now and when she gets back and we can finalize everything. But hot dam.
